Information for Professionals
We offer supported living for adults with learning disabilities and other health conditions in small-scale settings.
Bespoke Care
Dedicated Team
Our aim at MCD Care is to allow every client to reach their full potential.
We encourage independence and freedom while carefully balancing risk.
Upon arrival clients are supported by MCD to craft a detailed, bespoke care plan. These are continually adapted by MCD as client's requirements and needs change.
Staffing levels are provided based on each individual's needs.
Activities
Varied Schedule
Crafted around each client's preferences, we aim to assist clients in selecting a variety of activities to undertake each week. We encourage clients to be outgoing and keep busy.
Southampton boasts a variety or options including sports, cinema, shopping, museums, libraries, bowling, games clubs, walks, beaches and more.
We also encourage clients to undertake activities further afield and promote friendships.
Skills Centre
Outdoor Environment
We have a smallholding with goats, alpacas and sheep to provide our clients with animal therapy and a large outdoor space where we can promote independence and freedom.
The space encompasses 4 acres and provides opportunities for clients to relax, play and work on projects safely.
We undertake caring for the animals on a daily basis and encourage clients to get involved and learn new skills.
Structure
Organisation and Routine
MCD works to provide clients with routine and structure by working with them to plan their weeks including meals, activities, appointments and schedules to their individual needs. We have a proactive approach to our support and encourage clients to go out and be active to enrich their every day. Physical and mental stimulation are key at MCD and clients can enjoy accomplishing goals while maintaining a healthy body and mindset.

New Client Transitions
MCD can assist in various transition styles and have experience within different settings, funding authorities and clients. MCD's aim is to offer client's long term stability in a sustainable contract and ensure that we are the 'right' provider for the client.

MCD works closely alongside existing providers to ensure a seamless transition. Management work to utilise existing support plans, professional opinions and knowledge to better understand clients and develop an individual service tailored to the person.

Emergency placements can be facilitated and MCD Management will work efficiently alongside professionals to house and provide services within a short space of time.

Alternatively a longer transition timeline can be agreed to suit the individual.
Senior Support Workers can be provided to attend existing placements and work alongside existing Staff to gain hands on knowledge and understanding on a personal level. We find that these relations with Senior Support Workers assist new clients at MCD by offering a familiar, friendly face during the transition process.

Once the new client feels confident with MCD Staff, we usually begin support services at MCD's Skills Centre on a day care basis with existing staff accompanying new clients.
Our Skills Centre is a spacious, fun-filled space which allows new clients to be immersed with hands-on activities and build relations with other staff members. The animals provide a great relaxation and bonding point and the outdoor space provides freedom.

Based on the agreed timeline, MCD can then move the new client into their own accommodation and begin 24/7 care.
